 Hey guys

 welcome to the new blog

In this blog we will discuss about keto diet in details

WHAT IS KETO DIET?

As we all know there are 4 Macronutrients

1. Protein  4cal/g

2. Carbohydrate 4cal/g

3. Fat  9cal/g

4. Alcohol  7cal/g

The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate proteinlow carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used mainly to treat hard-to-control (refractory) epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than Carbohydrates.

KETO DIET ORIGIN

This diet was discovered in 1920s for the treatment of epilepsy , when doctors saw that keeping the epilepsy patients on low carb diet was helping them to cure epilepsy. But there was one problem that most of the patients were children so if they keep children on low carb diet it may cause the problem of malnutrition so they start giving them a diet which keeps them in ketosis state as well as fulfilling their nutrition requirements

Then many of the patients start losing their weight loss and then people starting using it as a weight loss tool

ADVANTAGES OF KETO DIET

Reduced inflammation

One of the most basic and most profound benefits of a ketogenic diet is that it drastically lowers inflammation. This is mainly due to the reduced amount of free radical production that occurs when burning ketones for energy instead of glucose. Less inflammation allows for more energy production and an overall more efficiently functioning body. This allows for a heightened ability of the body to heal in many different aspects.

Another reason that a ketogenic diet is so anti-inflammatory is that it allows blood sugar and insulin to stabilize. Blood sugar imbalance is one of the most pervasive inflammatory activities that goes on in the bodies of people who are heavily relying on sugar for energy.

Because of this anti-inflammatory benefit, a ketogenic diet may be well suited for improving cancer outcomes, autoimmunity, neurological disorders, and metabolic disorders alike.

Improved Fat Burning

By definition, being in a state of ketosis means you are burning fat for energy. If you have excess body fat, you will be able to burn it at a much more efficient rate.

In fact, there are several recent studies showing that a high-fat, low-carb diet is superior to a low-fat, high-carb diet for improving weight loss and improving lipid profile.

Being overweight is considered a risk factor for several diseases. Additionally, having excess body fat (particularly in the gut) is associated with hormone imbalances and toxin accumulation in the body.

Reduced Cravings

Many people don’t realize how much their lives revolve around their next meal. Sudden intense hunger pangs and mood swings are seen as common and normal in our society. In reality, these things are caused by chronic blood sugar instability signaling the brain that you are starving. This is where the sudden urge to eat NOW comes from.

If you find yourself getting hangry a lot, you likely are dealing with blood sugar instability.

Getting into a state of ketosis balances blood sugar, provides the brain with stable energy, and completely eliminates cravings. In fact, I often have people tell me that they barely think about food between meals anymore.

DISADVANTAGES OF KETO DIET

Nutrient Deficiency

Since Keto diet also restricts the consumption of vegetables and fruits, you deprive your body of vitamins and minerals present in these food sources such as fiber and antioxidants.

Increased Heart Rate

Once you start a Keto diet, it is quite likely that your heart rate will increase during the first few weeks. You may experience your heart beating harder too in response to the dietary changes. Arrhythmias patients should consult a doctor before adopting this diet plan.

Dehydration

Ketogenic diet helps body shed pounds by decreasing diet and maintaining muscle. However, this process can become quite risky if it is overdone. The diet helps form ketones when it enters a metabolic state, which are a by-product of ketosis. Excessive production of ketones can cause ketoacidosis, a condition in which excessive ketones cause dehydration by making the blood too acidic. In rare cases, this condition can lead to coma or even death.

Conclusions

To follow a ketogenic diet, it’s important to first evaluate the person’s state of health.

Having a particular health condition can increase the risks of this diet plan.

Even though the results are outstanding, it’s not a good idea to prolong this type of diet for more than 30 days, as it can cause nutritional deficiencies.

If your goal is to lose weight and keep the weight at a healthy level, the best alternative is to follow a balanced diet. This will fulfill all of the requirements of the body. Remember to consult with a specialist before trying any diet.

THANK YOU ❤
